Craziness opens new portals.
I like this, I remember the original Ultima games although I never was a big fan of it. But Lord British (or should I say Mr. Garriot? :XD:) was always someone I liked for his ideas and creative thinking.

Great work on the map, I maybe would add a more destroyed border with dents when its burnt (and the DA backgroundcolor underneath so it looks like a real burnt parchment on the screen! =D).

But really I like this. :)

It's not meant to be burnt, just plain, somewhat low quality (as evidenced by the pronounced grain) parchment without whitewash.
But its burnt on the sides no? ^^; Was just a thought. :)

Low grade parchment tends to be discoloured around the edges.
I like how it is written in runes. :)

Searched for "parchment tutorial" read a few of the results and made something up based on them. I've sort of replicated it as an SVG filter effect here: [link]

The green is just a result of blending the green of the map with the parchment background.
